Originally from Dallas, Texas, Mark Willard studied history and German at the University of Texas at Austin. He moved to Berlin in the late 1990s, where he first taught English before later becoming a full-time translator. He joined Tradukas in 2008. His primary fields of interest are history and politics, but he also enjoys translating texts on art and architecture as well as the social and cultural sciences. “I love making difficult material and complex issues more accessible to wider audiences. Perhaps the greatest aspect of working with Tradukas is the way we come together as a team. Tradukas gives us the opportunity to combine all of our members’ specialist knowledge and writing skills to offer the client the best possible product.“
